A new pill that burns body fat might one day be available commercially if the findings of a study by researchers at the Salk Institute are replicated in human trials. Lead researcher Dr. Ronald M. Evans described how a synthetic drug is able to turn on a gene called PPAR-d, which regulates the ability of cells to burn unwanted fat.
